Detailed tour itinerary
Our tour guide and driver will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to your hotel. Please note that, due to international flight availability, you may need to arrive in Mongolia one or two days earlier. This will give you time to recover from jet lag and prepare for your exciting trip in Mongolia.

After breakfast at the hotel, our driver and tour guide will pick you up and head to Elsen Tasarkhai, also known as the 'Little Gobi.' You'll arrive at this beautiful destination around lunchtime. After checking in at the tourist camp and having lunch, you’ll visit the sand dunes and have the opportunity to ride camels. You can also enjoy hiking around this stunning scenery.

Next, you’ll visit Kharkhorin, the ancient capital of the Mongol Empire, rich with history and cultural significance. Here, you’ll explore Erdenezuu Monastery, the first Buddhist monastery in Mongolia, known for its stunning architecture and peaceful atmosphere. Wander through its beautiful temples and admire the intricate details of this historical site.

Today we will head to Bayankhongor city. On the way to Bayankhongor, you will make a short stop at Shargaljuut Hot Springs, a natural hot spring known for its healing properties and beautiful surroundings. This is a great place to relax and enjoy the scenic landscape.

After breakfast at the hotel in Bayankhongor, we will head toward Gobi-Altai Province. Along the way, you'll explore some fascinating sites, starting with the unique 'Pencil Rocks,' known for their striking, thin formations rising sharply from the earth. Next, we’ll stop at Gegeen Lake, a serene spot perfect for taking in the scenic landscape and birdwatching. Finally, you’ll visit the Taishir Hydro Power Station, an impressive structure showcasing modern engineering in the Mongolian steppe. These stops offer a mix of natural beauty and cultural interest, making for an enjoyable journey.

On the drive to Khovd Province, you will visit the Dorgon lake area, which offers a stunning mix of desert and water landscapes, great for photography and short hikes. You could also explore the Khukh Serkh mountain range, a beautiful and rugged area home to rare wildlife, including ibex and argali sheep, adding a touch of adventure to the journey. This is optional. Just discuss it with your tour guide.

On this day, we will drive from Khovd City to Ulgii. We will depart early in the morning around 7:00 AM and head toward Bayan-Olgii Province to attend the Golden Eagle Festival. The festival typically begins around 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM and lasts for two days. You will have the opportunity to experience the unique culture of the local eagle hunters, explore their lifestyle, and watch exciting competitions showcasing their skills and the majestic golden eagles. The drive from Khovd to Ulgii takes approximately 2.5 hours, allowing us to arrive in time to enjoy this remarkable event. The festival continues for 2 days.

After breakfast, we will drive to Ulaangom City. Along the way, we will stop to see Uvs Lake, the largest lake in Mongolia and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This stunning area is known for its diverse wildlife and breathtaking landscapes, making it a great spot for photography and birdwatching. You can take a stroll along the lake shore to enjoy the natural beauty before we continue our journey to Ulaangom.

Today we will drive to Tosontsengel town. Along the way, we can stop at Telmen Lake, a beautiful saline lake surrounded by steppe landscapes, where you can enjoy the tranquil scenery and spot local wildlife.

Today, we will drive to Khorgo and Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake. Khorgo is an extinct volcano with a dramatic crater and panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Nearby, Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake, also known as the Great White Lake, offers beautiful waters framed by mountains and open steppe, perfect for exploring and taking in the natural beauty of this area. Khorgo is an extinct volcano with a dramatic crater, believed to have last erupted over 8,000 years ago. Its lava flows helped create the stunning Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake, also known as the Great White Lake. This lake has long been a significant natural landmark for nomadic herders and is surrounded by ancient volcanic rock formations. The area’s landscape is rich with legends and has been a central part of local history, adding depth to its natural beauty.

Today, we will drive to Ugii Lake, a beautiful freshwater lake known for its abundant birdlife and peaceful surroundings. This area is popular for birdwatching, with over 150 species, including rare migratory birds. You’ll also have the option to try fishing in the lake or simply relax and enjoy the tranquil lakeshore.

Today, we will drive back to Ulaanbaatar, departing early in the morning. The drive will take approximately 4-5 hours. Once we arrive, we’ll visit a cashmere shop and a souvenir shop, giving you a chance to pick up local gifts and high-quality Mongolian cashmere products. In the evening, we’ll enjoy a farewell dinner to celebrate the end of your Mongolian journey.
